Purchase a ribbon

More Than a Ribbon

When you purchase a Speak Sister ribbon, you're doing more than wearing a symbol of support—you are helping create safer communities for women and girls.

Every ribbon purchased directly supports Speak Sister's work to raise awareness of sexual violence, educate communities, develop trauma-informed training, and advocate for meaningful change. Your contribution helps us deliver programs, create free resources, amplify survivor voices, and equip workplaces and community services with the knowledge and confidence to respond safely and compassionately.

Wearing your ribbon also starts conversations. It shows survivors they are seen, believed and supported, while encouraging others to learn, listen and stand alongside those affected by sexual violence.

Together, these small acts create lasting change. One ribbon can spark a conversation, inspire understanding, and help build a future where every woman feels safe, heard and believed.

Trusted Spaces Training

Whether you're a hairdresser, beauty therapist, massage therapist, dentist, tattoo artist, physiotherapist or another professional who works closely with people, your service can have a profound impact on someone's sense of safety.

For many survivors of sexual violence, routine appointments can be unexpectedly challenging. Physical touch, close proximity, removing clothing, reclining in a chair, unfamiliar environments or a loss of control can trigger distress—even when the care being provided is appropriate and well-intentioned.

Trusted Spaces is a practical, trauma-informed training program that helps high-contact professionals create safer, more empowering experiences for every client.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the impacts of sexual violence and trauma.
  • Recognise how trauma can influence a person's responses to touch, communication and care.
  • Gain meaningful, ongoing consent before and during physical contact.
  • Use language and communication that promotes choice, control and dignity.
  • Adapt services to reduce the risk of re-traumatisation.
  • Recognise signs of distress and respond calmly and compassionately.
  • Respond appropriately if someone discloses an experience of sexual violence.
  • Understand professional boundaries and confidently connect people with appropriate support services when needed.

This training is not about becoming a counsellor. It is about understanding trauma, providing care that is safe and respectful, and ensuring every client feels heard, empowered and in control of their own body throughout their appointment.

By creating trusted spaces, professionals can improve client experiences, build stronger relationships and contribute to a community where survivors are met with understanding rather than uncertainty.
